One of our members of staff, Greg, took it out for a test drive and here are his thoughts…
Starting with downloading the app onto my phone, to then pair it via Bluetooth was quick and easy. The main screen of the app is easy to navigate and understand with the various menus for different parts of the setup. Setting up the ShockWiz is ever so simple. The on-screen calibration process is an easy step by step guide which, although taking some time and in some cases requiring a small amount of help from another person to help, is incredibly thorough and calibrates the device really well to your fork or shock.
Having calibrated the ShockWiz to your fork, all that you need to do is ride. The ShockWiz will tell you what kind of riding it needs you to do to acquire the data required to make the best judgement as to how you should tune your fork to your desired riding style. For the first few runs I was on nice smooth and mellow jump tracks with the fork on its softest compression setting. On the app, it told me I needed to do more pedalling both up and down as well as bumpy sections on the tracks and having ridden this kind of terrain the ShockWiz had come back with the changes I should make to my forks in order to better tune them to how I wanted my bike to feel.
Furthermore the following morning I took it for a quick blast down the cake run having changed my riding preference from balanced to playful and having done the ride up and down the hill the ShockWiz had come back with the data and having followed the steps I had managed to achieve a really nice feeling fork which felt super comfortable and playful as well as a lot smoother as one of my major problems I had with the setup was I could never quite get it to feel smooth and supple enough without removing too much air but having been told by the app which compression dials should be turned in which direction to better achieve the desired feel of the fork, it now felt super smooth and on the bigger hits, the correct amount of travel was finally being used.

- Can be used to customise your setup to your personal riding style.
